01
What we collect
When you join the Ren waitlist, we collect your email address and the date you signed up. Nothing else at this stage.
When you create a beta account, we collect your email address, a display name if you choose to provide one, and the activity data you generate inside the app — notes, tasks, and voice captures you create. This data is stored to provide the service and will never be sold.
We also collect standard technical data automatically: IP address, device type, operating system, and general usage patterns. This is used solely for diagnosing issues and improving the product.
02
How we use it
Your email is used to notify you when your beta access is ready, to send product updates you've opted into, and to communicate important changes to the service. We do not send marketing email from third parties.
Your in-app data is used to provide Ren's core functionality — capturing your thoughts, organizing them, and surfacing them when they're relevant. We do not use your personal notes or voice captures to train AI models.
Aggregate, anonymized usage data may be used to understand how people use the product and inform what we build next.
03
How we store it
Your data is stored on secure servers. We use industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. Beta is a pre-release product — while we take security seriously, you should not store sensitive information you would not want exposed in the event of a breach.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion at any time by contacting us at the address below.
04
Third parties
We use a small number of third-party services to operate Ren: an email delivery provider to send you notifications, and a cloud infrastructure provider to host the application. These providers are contractually prohibited from using your data for their own purposes.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers, data brokers, or any other third parties for commercial purposes.
05
Your rights
You have the right to access the data we hold about you, request a correction, or ask us to delete it entirely. To exercise any of these rights, email us at the address in the contact section below. We will respond within 30 days.
If you are located in California, you have additional rights under the CCPA. If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have additional rights under the GDPR. We will honor all applicable rights regardless of your location.
06
Beta program
Ren is currently in beta. By joining the waitlist or accepting a beta invitation, you acknowledge that the product is under active development, may contain bugs, and may change significantly before general release.
Beta invitations are personal and non-transferable except through the in-app invitation system. Each accepted beta user receives three invitations to share with people of their choosing. Invitations issued through unofficial channels are invalid.
We reserve the right to revoke beta access at any time, for any reason, without notice.
07
Children
Ren is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with their information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
08
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Ren grows and changes. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify you by email. Continued use of the product after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
